Purpose
Faith Christian Academy was officially established as a church school in June, 1986. The school operates as a ministry of Faith Church to provide legal cover for home schooling families.
Home schooling has proved to be an excellent choice of education for your children. It is being considered by more and more Christian families every year. Home education provides strength for the family with a secure learning atmosphere and the advantage of one on one teaching for each student. The families of Faith Christian Academy have found home schooling to be a rewarding alternative.
Our Program
PARENTS ARE THE TEACHERS AND ASSUME TOTAL RESPONSIBLILITY FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION.
The parents purchase a curriculum which is reviewed and approved by the administrator. All parents must meet the requirements set forth in the 'Parent-Teacher' requirements of our program.
A cumulative file is kept for each student and achievement test are given once a year. On campus activities take place during the months of September through May. The school also provides high school seniors a diploma and graduation ceremony. High School class rings are available.
There are various reasons why parents are making this choice for their child's education. It is important to the administration at FCA to know of both your motive and goals for teaching your children at home. If you plan to transfer your student back into public school, you should know that the public school officials can make the decision to not place your child in the grade level her or she has achieved through home education. Please take this information into consideration when making your decision about home schooling, especially for students in 9th through 12th grades.
NOTE: If you are an Alabama state certified teacher, or if you have your student(s) privately tutored by an Alabama state certified teacher, the church school covering is optional and you may choose to operate your home school through your local board of education.

Ministers Profile
Fannie Mae Box
Faith Church Academy had been a home school ministry for 23 years. The school has had four administrators and two secretaries. Fannie Mae Box, has been the administrator for 9 years. The secretary, Paula Watkins, has been in the office for 13 years. This ministry was started with three families of Faith, and three non-member families. We have had as many as 135 families under our covering. We average around 90 families a year. A covering such as this has been a wonderful blessing for those of us who wish to home school.
